US-based insurance broker NFP continues to grow in Canada with its most recent acquisition – EdgeHill Insurance Brokers of Toronto, ON.
EdgeHill specializes in personal lines for high net worth clients, including personal, auto, marine, and personal liability insurance. The brokerage business also provides commercial insurance and risk management services for a number of different industries.

According to a press release, NFP’s acquisition of EdgeHill provides an opportunity for NFP to expand its expertise for wealthy clients in Canada and to add additional service functions to its specialty transportation and trucking businesses.
As part of the transaction, EdgeHill directors Patti Hull and Ross Schofield will join NFP as vice president and consultant, respectively. Hull reports to Brian Timmis, executive director of NFP Canada’s private customer group.

Earlier this year, NFP acquired Elective Benefit Services – a company specializing in group benefits and retirement planning in Waterloo, ON – and last month, NFP also acquired Montreal, QC, commercial and personal P&A insurance broker Ogilvy Insurance. C-Linien offers insurance as well as group benefits, annuities, life insurance and investment products.
